When I saw this today I just had to say CONGRATS to the winner!

Maranda Cash Beat Over 3,000 Participants For Dream Job

Maranda Cash is Cheap Sally’s Bring Home the Bacon Contest winner. Her deal-finding skills and couponing savviness earned her Cheap Sally’s $100,000 blogging job for 2012.  As America’s top couponer, Ms. Cash beat over 3,000 participants for the dream job. And plans to start couponing classes this spring to help members of the community.

Ms. Cash and her daughter share a house with her brother and his family of eight in Cleveland. She feeds her household of 11 on a strict budget of $90 a week while an average family of four spends an average of $205 a week (according to the Official USDA Food Plans).

But she isn’t your typical extreme couponer, “I don’t have a basement stocked full of household needs for the next few years, but I do try to buy what we need for the next 4-6 weeks,” says Ms. Cash. “I am able to save thousands of dollars a year by using coupons, so I do consider that extreme

Can you imagine how great this is for Maranda and her family?  It’s nice to see a regular couponer getting recognition and reward!

When I mention saving money with coupons many people say “couponing didn’t work for me – it was too much work keeping track of all the coupons.”

My advice is to start slow – don’t try to be one of the extreme couponers you see on TV. After all, you don’t NEED 1,000 boxes of cereal – right? Before you start clipping hundreds of coupons each week try these easy steps to start saving:

Save up to 30 to 50 percent with “shopping club” cards

Many supermarkets now offer “shopping clubs” that provide members with special in-store discounts. These are no-clipping-required coupons that never expire. For example, the Target Red card offers 5 percent off purchases and can be used as a debit or credit card.

Upload coupons directly onto your shopping club card

Stores that have a shopping club website may also post manufacturer and brand coupons there. Log into the site with your card ID number, then click on the coupons you want and they’ll load right onto your card.

Organize your shopping club cards and coupons with your smartphone

If you shop at a lot of stores, you may be carrying around a lot of shopping club cards. Ditch the cards by loading them on a free club card organizer application available soon at SaveYourMoneySaveYourFamily. com. You’ll also soon find a free coupon organizing app there. It will allow you to click on coupons online and load them onto your phone for the trip to the grocery store.

Even small steps like those listed above can make a significant difference in your yearly food costs. As you become more comfortable with couponing tactics you will save even more. Subscribe to MomSaves4U.com to stay updated on all the latest couponing tips.
