Organizing Coupons
True or False: You can save lots of money with coupons.
Of course it’s True. But unfortunately you can’t wiggle your nose or wave a magic wand and have all the coupons when and where you need them.
Starting out as a new couponer is exciting. That first coupon you use that doubles from 50 cents to $1 off gives you a glimpse of the $$$$$$ you could save if you only had MORE COUPONS.
And once you start looking for coupons – you find them everywhere. Ever been sitting in the dentist’s waiting room nervously flipping through a magazine and see just the coupon you need for something you know is on sale that week? Do you dare tear it out?
Or maybe you’re taking your evening walk and notice the neighbor two doors down has tossed her coupon inserts in the recycle bin at the curb. Maybe you could mosey on down there after dark and grab those babies.
Couponing can blossom into an addiction quickly. Not an addiction like drugs or alcohol – but a good addiction – one that saves our families money on things we need.
Soon you learn that in order to save more you need multiple coupons. As you gather your magazine, newspaper and internet printed coupons it starts to become overwhelming. You need a good system to organize these coupons or you’re not going to be able to find them when you need them.
I didn’t realize how creatively many couponers solve this problem until I asked the question “How do you organize your coupons” in a newsletter contest as few months ago. I’ve added some of their answers to my website. You can read about it here.
